January 18, 2006 - Seattle - VizX Labs announced today that Oregon Health & Science University has purchased an Academic Core License of GeneSifter, the award-winning online microarray analysis system, and is partnering with VizX to offer GeneSifter to their researchers at a reduced rate.

Christopher Dubay, PhD, a bioinformatics specialist at OHSU, uses GeneSifter in his classes. "I'm very pleased to see that the use of GeneSifter in our bioinformatics educational offerings has spread to actual use of the software for research by the rest of the campus," he said. "GeneSifter is a wonderful and intuitive bioinformatics tool for gene expression analysis, enabling researchers to quickly get to the core of the biology behind their microarray data."

Last summer, use of GeneSifter spread from Dubay's classroom to the OHSU Cancer Institute. At the time, Institute director Grover Bagby, MD called GeneSifter "the friendliest and one of the most valuable personal analytical tools I've used to date."
